SMP for Women

Hair loss can be a very traumatic experience, particularly for women.

There are many reasons why women lose their hair including genetics, age, hormonal changes, medical treatment, and stress to name a few. The effects can take the form of thinning or total loss of hair, and the process can be gradual or sudden.

Scalp Micropigmentation for Women

What is SMP?

SMP is a Cosmetic Tattooing procedure, similar to Permanent Make Up or PMU, where micro-precision needles are used to implant pigment into the upper dermal layer of the scalp, creating the illusion of new hair growth by replicating individual hair follicles. The result creates an overall appearance of thicker and denser hair by covering areas where the scalp was previously visible. The treatment is used to fill in sparse areas and will not damage your existing hair. If normal hair growth returns, the SMP will remain undetectable and will not prevent hair from growing back on the treated area. SMP is a semi-permanent treatment and would require a colour boost every 3-5 years. The treatment itself is non-surgical and non-invasive with little to no downtime. The pigment used for Scalp Micropigmentation procedures contains only organic ingredients and will only fade over time - not discolour! SMP can be a truly transformative, non-invasive and fast solution for ladies suffering the effects of hair loss.

Female Hair Densification by Chloe Howe SMP

SMP for Female Hair Density

Densification SMP is an effective hair loss solution for women experiencing thinning and sparse hair. Tiny dots of pigment are implanted into the scalp mimicking individual hair follicles giving the illusion of new hair growth. The result creates the appearance of a full head of healthy hair by adding density and hiding areas where the scalp was previously visible. Scalp Micropigmentation is suitable for women with any type of hair loss including receding or sparse hairlines, a wide parting, and overall thinning. SMP pigments can be matched to any hair colour including blonde and grey hair. Scalp Micropigmentation will not damage existing hair, nor will it prevent the possibility of re-growth on the areas treated with SMP. See more SMP FAQ's here. Hair loss can have a huge phycological effect on how we feel as a woman and can impact our self-esteem, body image and self-confidence. Scalp Micro-pigmentation is a safe and affordable treatment offering a guaranteed hair loss solution.

The Ludwig Scale

Prior to your SMP treatment, I will assess at what stage your hair loss is on the Ludwig Scale. The Ludwig Scale ranges from stages I to III and is a classification system used to measure the extent of female pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia). Female-pattern baldness is the most common type of hair loss in ladies affecting around 40% of women by the age of 70 and is thought to be inherited. FPB is characterised by diffuse thinning across the scalp and a widening of the parting. The number of hours and sessions required for your SMP treatment will be determined by which stage of the Ludwig Scale you are.
