SMP for Men
Hair loss can be a very traumatic experience, regardless of gender or age.
There are many reasons why men lose their hair including genetics, age, hormonal changes, medical treatment, and stress to name a few. The effects can take the form of thinning or total loss of hair, and the process can be gradual or sudden.
What is SMP?
SMP is a Cosmetic Tattooing procedure, similar to Permanent Make Up or PMU, where micro-precision needles are used to implant pigment into the upper dermal layer of the scalp, creating the illusion of new hair growth by replicating individual hair follicles. The result creates an overall appearance of thicker and denser hair by covering areas where the scalp was previously visible. The treatment is used to fill in sparse areas and will not damage your existing hair. If normal hair growth returns, the SMP will remain undetectable and will not prevent hair from growing back on the treated area. SMP is a semi-permanent treatment and would require a colour boost every 3-5 years. The treatment itself is non-surgical and non-invasive with little to no downtime. The pigment used for Scalp Micropigmentation procedures contains only organic ingredients and will only fade over time - not discolour! SMP can be a truly transformative, non-invasive and fast solution for ladies gents suffering the effects of hair loss.
SMP for Male Hair Density
Densification SMP is a safe and affordable hair loss solution for men of all ages with thinning and sparse hair. Scalp Micropigmentation is a guaranteed hair loss solution that works by implanting tiny dots of pigment into the scalp mimicking individual hair follicles creating the illusion of new hair growth. The result gives the appearance of a full head of healthy hair by adding density and hiding exposed areas of the scalp. SMP is suitable for men with any type of hair loss including receding or sparse hairlines, a wide parting, bald spots such as crown thinning, and overall diffuse thinning. I can match the pigment to any hair colour including blonde and grey hair. SMP will not damage existing hair, nor will it prevent the possibility of re-growth on the treated areas in the future. Scalp Micro-pigmentation is a safe and affordable treatment offering a guaranteed solution.
The Norwood Scale
Before your SMP treatment, I will evaluate at what stage your hair loss is on the Norwood Scale. The Norwood Scale has 7 stages and is the leading classification system used to measure the extent of male pattern baldness. It was published in 1975 by Dr. O’Tar Norwood who was a leading Dermatologist and pioneer in the field of Hair Transplant Surgery. Using this system, I can predict future hair loss patterns and design your SMP treatment around your individual hair loss. The number of hours and sessions required for your Scalp Micropigmentation treatment will be determined by which stage of the Norwood Scale you are.
